yes vinod.. i saw the picture gandhi on a charka on indyeah’s site and asked her if i could post it here . and then when i went on flicker and searched for it – i found this. he has a description to on the flicker site
i just wanted to link the past with the present. it was the charka which mobilised the people, spearheaded by karamchand gandhi ( not indira gandhi or sonia gandhi or rahul gandhi – not related to the real gandhi in any way, they are the 20th century dyanstic clan who want to sit on the throne ) and also helped the birlas get rich who in turn supported gandhi and his freedom movement financially.
charkha is a symbol of hope, freedom, perseverance, faith and action- literally and metaphorically. it was the yarn which connected every man in india once upon a time irrespective of state, religious and geographical borders !
Today is Gandhiji’s martyrdom day too
